Islamic Writings: Tools for Conservation

What I find most valuable in this article is the connection that cultures make within their environment. As different as we may be through religion or race we share one common ground, which is the earth in which we live in. What I find remarkable in this article is when one culture takes their consciousness of the environment that transcends from Islamic principles. The article hones in on Saudi Arabia and their efforts with land management and legislation for conservation. Their belief being that they must conserve and protect nature because these were the laws that God has created. These interpretations from Islamic religion describes the importance of working towards a notion that is fairly new to the majority of the world, which we as landscape architects should work hard to assume these responsibilities.
