Thaisa Way, Emerging modernsims: Women as Landscape Architects at Mid Century

In Dr. Way's lecture, she spoke on the subject of women in landscape architecture and how their contributions help shape the field today. Dr.Way pointed out that many female landscape architects and their accomplishments had been forgotten in historic narratives. Starting from the formation of ALSA and Beatrix Farrand who was a founding member, the presence of women in our field can be clearly seen. Dr.Way listed through history some of the great female landscape architects whose work pushed and changed the boundaries of modernism and design. I found the lecture to interesting as Dr. Way shed light on a topic not commonly mentioned.
