Landscape Architects use inventory and analysis to understand site and to inform decisions. The Chinese refer to this process as the geomancer and use the loupan to come to a decision. The geomancer uses principles that we use in landscape architecture. For example, choosing to build on high ground rather than in a valley. Others know these thoughts and principles as karma. The loupan is used to achieve/measure feng shui. In order to achieve feng shui, one must always search for good omens. On the other hand, the bible influences decisions Christians (or other religious) make.
It does not matter what we base our original decisions on or how we decipher our decisions, rather it is important that we reach each decision with meaning.
